Why are we here on Earth? \\ GrandiloquentConvo

This is my first guest on my blog (expect more in the future) and I’m really excited for this post because I came across this guest when I opened my WordPress blog and since then I was thinking how can I ask him to be a guest on my blog because from the first time I read few of his posts I instantly thought that he is such an intelligent person. I wrote few questions and got answers back from him, so here it is CommonSenseTom.

How long have you been blogging and how it was like?

I’ve been blogging since June 2006… started out at MySpace and Xanga (both sites now defunct)… still post at Blogger and of course, here, @WordPress. The experience was and still is both liberating and intriguing… to freely express myself… to know that at any given moment someone might mind meld with me and vice versa.

Describe yourself in brief.

I’m 62. My main passions are liberal politics and music… hobbies are astronomy, recording musical “mix tapes” and playing piano. You can learn much more about me on my profile page.

If you could trade lives with one person for an entire day who would it be and why?

John F. Kennedy… but I would not want that “one day” to be Friday, November 22, 1963. He was born into a wealthy family but never lost sight of the fact that not everyone in the vast sea of humanity has been so fortunate. He did so much to help usher in the beginnings of racial equality. He was a visionary. For him the sky, figuratively and quite literally, was not the limit… as those human footprints on the lunar surface can attest.

Who was someone you really looked up to when you were little — someone you considered to be a mentor?

Both of my parents. They were impoverished public school teachers but bestowed a wealth of their knowledge and life’s experiences upon me… made me the loving, caring man I am today.

What is something you’ve always wanted to try but have been too scared to?

Married life. The fear factor is due to my seeing way too much divorce on far too many branches of my family tree.

What is your all-time favorite movie?

Carl Sagan’s Contact… also loved reading his novel, which the film was based on.

If you could have the answer to any question, what would that question be?

Why are we here on Earth?

Who do you think should win the 2016 U.S. presidential election?

Bernie Sanders… but unless he gets Democratic majorities in the Senate/House… he’s not going to further the progressive agenda, effect the changes, which average Jane and Joe Americans need (whether they realize they need this liberal shift or not).

How do you define love?

Respect between two people… each person feeling free to be who they really are while they travel down life’s road, hand in hand… together… till death do they part.

Who do you want to throw cold spaghetti at? (it doesn’t have to be a negative thing, it can be positive, someone you think that might delight or it can be someone that you’re like ‘i want you to have a wake-up call’)

That’s an easy one. To say that the vicious, avaricious radical Republicans need an attitude re-adjustment is the biggest understatement of the new millennium. They need to understand that the wealth of a society is NOT measured ONLY in dollars and cents. That the world does NOT revolve around them.

What will you say to readers that are reading this?

That’s a dangerous Q, David. I could write so much you’d max out the space WordPress allotted you. But to answer this more seriously… while it may sound self-serving… read my blogs. I’ve already said a lot there… and I’m just warming up!

  1. Wow! A great idea indeed! Loved it. I only think he should give love a chance, he might find out he doesn’t share the same destiny as the rest of his family that had no luck in love.
